- How does the card authorization and billing process work? The payment card is not pre-authorized for a set amount prior to use. The CPI system operates via real-time validation. Swiping or tapping the card instantly validates the account and activates the copier. When the customer finishes, the system calculates the final total and charges that amount to the card, operating exactly like a self-service gas station pump. A detailed receipt prints automatically as soon as the session concludes.

The CPI system utilizes TRX Services' software to provide a fully PCI-compliant, staff-free terminal.
